DENVER, CO, October 20, 2009…Jane Robbe Rhodes, president of Catholic Health Initiatives Foundation jointly with Peter Makowski, president and CEO of St. Anthony Central Hospital, announce new leadership for the St. Anthony Health Foundation.

Leslie A. Strate will assume the Chief Development Officer position for St. Anthony Health Foundation on November 16, 2009.  Strate returns to St. Anthony from Bonfils Blood Center where she served as executive director of Bonfils Blood Center Foundation since May of 2007.  Prior to that she was vice president of St. Anthony Health Foundation for seven years.

Strate received a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in Stanford, California and earned a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Regis University in Denver.  James Turpen, Foundation Board Chair, said, “We are extremely pleased to welcome back Leslie Strate to the St. Anthony Health Foundation.  We know her to be a person of experience, high standards and integrity, and we are confident in her ability to meet the challenges of the current capital campaign our foundation currently is engaged in for our new hospital.”

In her leadership role of the fund raising arm of the hospital, Strate is responsible for the development programs at St. Anthony Central Hospital including The Villas at Sunny Acres and The Gardens at St. Elizabeth. This position functions in close collaboration and partnership with the St. Anthony Central Hospital and Catholic Health Initiatives Colorado Foundations to assure the success of the local fund-raising programs.

Catholic Health Initiatives, the nation’s second-largest Catholic health care system, is a nonprofit health organization with headquarters in Denver, and is part of a joint venture organization formed in 1996 with Centura Health.  St. Anthony Central Hospital, Colorado’s largest nonprofit Level I trauma center, is part of Centura Health.  St. Anthony Central is a nationally recognized full-service health care organization with renowned programs in trauma, cardiovascular services, neurosciences and orthopedics.  This faith-based hospital has served Colorado for more than 115 years, and looks forward to completing construction of the new St. Anthony Hospital and medical campus in Lakewood, Colorado in 2011.
